Organizing the Refrigerator

While talking to one of my sisters on the phone yesterday I wasn't fully paying attention to my daughter. I knew she was looking in the refrigerator, but I didn't know the full extent at first. Once I saw what was going on, I started laughing and told my sister I had a mess to clean up after I got out the camera. I had to document this. What a big helper she is...

For Sale

Okay, here's the big announcement. Our home is officially on the market. We have a big fat sign out in front of the house and a little "Take One" container filled up with house information sheets. I can't believe this is all happening.

About a month ago, M accepted an offer to work at a company in Atlanta, GA. So that's where we're headed. We have a few months to sell the house, find a new one and settle in. M starts his new job on March 1. At that time he will be doing some work from home and some traveling too. We will go with him a few times at first to check out the new area and start looking for places to live.

Our home went on the market on Monday, but we didn't have a sign out front until Tuesday. Then yesterday, Wednesday, after we got a foot of snow, someone wanted to see our home. So for the first time we casually left, went to the grocery store and let strangers tour our home. It was such a strange feeling. My stomach was in knots the whole time. Thankfully I had a shopping list in front of me or it would have been a completely aimless trip to the store.

We got home a little early because there were still cars in our driveway. So we parked a few houses down to watch and see the people leave. What a strange feeling.

With one showing down we pray that the right buyer will come along soon so our family can be together shortly after M starts the long commute to Atlanta. We appreciate any prayers you can spare on our behalf. Thanks!

Ready to Ride

C likes to climb in to the bike trailer and play in it. I borrowed this from a friend and haven't had a chance to use it yet. See, we don't own bikes. I can use it as a jogger stroller too, but since I have a single seater there is no real need. But she likes the bike trailer anyway. I am good with that because it gives her something to do inside since it is still too cold to spend any quality time outdoors.


Speaking of outdoors. We got about a foot of snow the other day and decided that even though it was only 20 degrees outside we'd take C for a little ride in her sled. After about 5 minutes she started saying, "Burrrrr." That meant the ride was over. But that didn't mean that she was finished playing in her sled. I found her in the laundry room sitting in her sled so we decided to take her for a ride on the carpet in the family room. This seemed to be just as fun for her as being out in the snow. Our daughter is quite easy to please.

Snowy Day Fun

Since it has been below freezing here for the past month or so, it gets difficult to find new, fun ways to entertain a toddler indoors. You can only go to the library or walk around the mall so many times before it gets really old real quick.

So we emptied a plastic container, cleaned it out and filled it with water. I placed a few cups, toys and a colander in the tub and presto a fun activity. As you can see by the video our little girl had tons of fun splashing around. Her little tongue hung out in excitement as her fast fingers played with each item in turn. By the time she finished, she was completely soaked. Thankfully all the water went on her and not the floor.

For anyone who has them, I am up for indoor house-bound activities to do with a 15 month old. It doesn't look like the temperature outside will warm up any time soon.
