Blizzard-like Conditions

We just had to...

Ever since the first few flakes accumulated on the slide it has snowed almost every day. Now it is positively a winter wonderland out there. I for one am wondering what happened to all the mild weather we've been having lately. It seems as though God just decided that--BOOM--it's going to be winter in Chicagoland! So there you have it--snow, snow, snow.

I took advantage of the opportunity and led little C outside to experience walking in, falling in, and yes, even tasting the snow. She put on a new snow outfit handed down to her by our good friends in PA. It is quite roomy on her, but she had fun exploring the snow in it for sure. She is the pink snow monster on your screen. You can't miss her.

[Inside on another day, C wears Mommy's scarf and checks out the branches on the Christmas tree.]

Meal Times...Good Times

Eating recently became a sport since C learned how to use her spoon by herself. She much prefers her independence at meal times to having anyone else help. It gets quite messy, but she will master it soon. I decided to get the camera out because I thought some of you would enjoy seeing it for yourselves. She still needs some encouragement to stay focused on the task at hand or the food gets beaten to a pulp and smeared all over the tray, floor, baby, mommy...

Snow is in the Air

We had flurries yesterday for the first time this season. Enough accumulated on the backyard slide for C to get her hands in it. She wasn't quite sure what it was...but this is what happened.

I think she's looking around to try and figure out who put the white stuff on her slide.

Saying Peek-a-boo

We got a new sectional this week and C immediately climbed up and checked it out. In this video you can hear her say "peek-a-boo" as she tries her best to cover her eyes. She usually misses and only covers her mouth or the side of her face as best. It's so sweet.

Christgiving

We had an Ohio Thanksgiving this year. Thanks to S's Aunt and Uncle we were able to spend time with a bunch of fun-loving family members. S's mom and dad, sister and brother-in-law came out as well and we had a chance to celebrate Christmas with them. We managed to take a few photos during the Christmas celebration...but sadly didn't make it home with any other photos of the Thanksgiving gathering except one shot of S's sister and her with their little ones.

At the Christmas gift exchange, C got some fun high-tech toys. She opened a laptop computer first, then discovered that she got a new cell phone and set of car keys to play with too. What a lucky little girl. Her grandparents also gave her the most adorable little winter jumper.
