Easter with Grandparents

Fun with Leo, our adorable little 3 month old...

Our silly 2 1/2 year old.

Leo met his Pop Pop for the first time over Easter weekend.

Easter Bunny and all those eggs

C really had fun this year with all the egg hunts. The first one we did was like a mad race. Check out all the people just in the 6 months to 3 year age range.

She told her Daddy: "Daddy, pick me up because I might get hurt." And he did. He ran with her in his arms all the way to the front of the pack and picked up a few eggs from the far end of the field. Then she got to meet the Easter Bunny. The following weekend was Easter and her grandparents came to visit. We did an egg hunt after church and after her nap on Sunday. I told her that she had to go to sleep before the Easter Bunny would come and hide the eggs for her. Only about ten minutes into her nap I heard a loud thump from her room. I ran up to make sure she was okay. I found her on the floor by her bed and asked, "What happened?"

She said, "I fell on the floor and hit my head, Mommy."

"Oh. What were you doing?"

"I was looking out the window trying to see the Easter Bunny going hop, hop in the grass for me."

"Oh. Okay. Well, you know the bunny is not going to come until you have had a really good nap."

So she immediately hopped into bed, pulled the covers up to her chin and closed her eyes. We didn't hear a peep from her room until almost two hours later. By then the Easter Bunny had plenty of opportunity to hide some plastic eggs for her to hunt. She got out her shopping cart and searched all over the back yard for her eggs, opening each one as she found it to see what treasure was hidden inside.

Reading to Leo

"I want to read this book to Leo, Mommy," says our sweet girl. This is the story Leo heard.
